My practice has been a life long journey. I grew up emulating my moms yoga practice throughout my childhood on a mat beside hers as I followed her following Steve Ross. In college I returned to my practice finding yoga as a comforting safe space yet again, during two very hard years of my life. Yoga has always had its space in my life. When I found out I was pregnant in October 2020, yoga slowly but steadily transformed from a part of my life into my life. I used the physical movements in my asana practice to help my pains and discomforts throughout my pregnancy. When I could no longer workout because I was so nauseous and felt so physically weak yoga gave me the space to flow comfortably, and to help my low back pain and hip aches. My meditation practice gave me a mindful space to connect with my baby and my breath.

After a high risk pregnancy and a difficult labor with 4th degree tearing I returned to my mat once again, this time with one goal. Healing mentally and physically. While entering motherhood is magical it can also take a heavy toll on both the mind and body. I wanted to heal my physical body, my ab separation and my pelvic floor. I wanted to strengthen my body so I could be better prepared for my next pregnancy, whenever that may be. I wanted a grounding space to return to again and again where I could breathe, reset and just be, when my daily life was too much.

Once I found that space on my mat I felt the strong pull to educate myself, deepen my yoga knowledge and expand my practice so I could help other mothers have a practice of their own. To find their strength, their calm and their own grounding. To help them heal. Rose Moon is not simply movement. It is learning to create connection between the mind, body and spirit.

I spent 6 months and 345 hours dedicating every moment I wasn’t with my son to studying, practicing, and attending teacher training. I gained my 200 hour yoga teacher certification first, then my Ayurvedic nutrition certification followed by my Pranayama certification for breath coaching before finally, I became certified as a registered pre/postnatal yoga teacher. All of my studies have been through wonderful women owned studios that are accredited through Yoga Alliance. I hope to continue my yoga education for the rest of my life because of the joy learning about my passions and building this community brings me.

Every pregnancy is entirely different. Rose Moon was created with this in mind. This is not a general practice for large groups who fit into the “pregnant” or “postpartum” categories. This is an entirely personalized practice, just for you. For your pregnancy, for your schedule, for your postpartum healing, and into your motherhood journey. This is why we offer fully personalized, private in home yoga sessions to ensure that each practice is made and adjusted entirely for you.
